Ryli hadn't been long dead - well, at least he didn't think he had. He'd certainly not been in this place for long, and apparently his shiny newness was rather obvious... As his suicide might suggest, Ryli wasn't always sunshine and daisies; he was the kind of person who got anxious and angsty, panicked and worried themselves into a wreck, and inevitably did something very inadvisable to try and 'fix things'. Ryli was well aware that this time - oh God, this time - he'd screwed up royally, what with being dead and trapped in limbo now, and rather than trying to soldier bravely through the afterlife, he was a rather hapless mess and looking for the easy way out.
Gnawing at a fingernail like it was going out of style, Ryli had numbly trailed his way from... wherever it was he'd been. Maybe had he not been in an anxious kind of daze, he might've noticed as his surroundings changed from chirpy and pleasant and got steadily seedier... Oblivious and still focused on chewing his way through that nail, he hadn't. It wasn't until a Demon called out and caught his attention that he'd blinked his blue eyes and been brought back to reality. Apparently his shiny newness (or maybe it was the hopelessly lost, dazed and general air of confusion) had pointed out Ryli out as a first class victim. With the kind of smile that can only be described as predatory, Ryli's new Demon com padre had steered him with a hand firmly between his shoulder blades and started explaining a few basic facts to him... Like that it was too late to repent - he was damned, and anyways; hell was the easy way out. Somehow, between trying to mumble a reply and edge away, he'd ended up being persuaded to see some of the sights - Turned out to be the afterlife equivalent to Vegas, though no one seemed to give a damn that Ryli was too young to be there.
3 hours later, pockets now woefully empty of what money Ryli actually had, Ryli's friend had lost interest and let him slip back outside. Chewing absent mindedly on a lip ring, Ryli was determined not to be roped off into a scam again and tried to walk like he had some purpose, or any idea where he was going after he'd just made it down these steps out and outside..
..Random... But meh :]

Even in the afterlife Cos was partial to a fun, scandalous expedish with the Lostlings and partial to good poke with a red hot iron here and there. There was something so liberating about being able to create pain in a painless world. Apparently, according to the Dulcie only Devil's fire could hurt on the island and dammit Cos just couldn't let that lie. He loved to trap some hapless immortal and test this theory with knives and switchblades as well as a good few matches. Despite knowing know that that rumour was true the enjoyment of seeing their scared little faces hadn't worn off. Thing was, if they believed that it was gunna hurt before it had started their minds; still attached to mortality would tell them it hurt still. Priceless!
Cos had tired of that behaviour this evening and also been chased from the Tudor Lost Village by some meddling Jana with a hiss and threat so, with his tail between his legs, Cos had slunk back to the wonderful, sinful streets of Satan's home turf. Vegas-style. And what was this? Cos couldn't help but notice the flower by the way-side. A little soul by the name of Ryli. Well, Cos didn't actually know that at all but he'd pretend he knew everyone if it'd gain him a friend. By the looks of him he could be a worthy ally.
Well. Coz would gain this one's trust and then betray him royally. "Hey you?" delicacy was not his style, "I wouldn't hang around here my love. It's not safe. Demons are afoot and they ain't pretty," Cosmos smiled with something that looked like genuine warm but it never reached his eyes. Nothing could touch those steely, dark orbs.
